This African nonprofit have found a way to effectively bring world-class AI to Africans

On Wednesday, 20 February 2019, Data Science Nigeria (DSN) launched its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Knowledge Base to strengthen AI communities in Nigeria and Africa.

AI Knowledge Boxes are 2TB external hard drives containing about 10,141 training videos.
These videos have been “professionally downloaded from a variety of artificial intelligence training platforms at leading international artificial intelligence universities, world-class machine learning researchers and world-class artificial intelligence conferences.

In recent years, artificial intelligence and related fields have become one of the main technologies that determine global progress.

The Markets and Markets report states that “the artificial intelligence market has grown from $21.46 billion in 2018 to $190.61 billion in 2025.

While AI growth is rapidly intertwined with humanity’s future, poor Internet connectivity, financial constraints and power shortages are limiting access for many Nigerians and Africans to the skills needed to connect to that future.

The unfortunate nature of these tools means that Africans do not have access to learning materials that are easily accessible on the Internet.

Ironically, Africa is a continent that must take care of artificial intelligence even more than the rest of the world.
